My Parents Lost Everything In A Mobile Home Fire.

It was Thursday evening before Good Friday. My Dad was on one side of the house in the living room and my mother was on the other side of the house in the bedroom. It was a normal beautiful evening in the hills of Georgia and they were enjoying the cool night.

Then, disaster.

My father described it as an explosion. There was a loud bag somewhere outside the house and the next thing he knew he was staring at flames on the outside of the home. Within seconds, the fire found its way through the wall and into an oscillating fan in the corner. He told me the flames and smoke were shooting through the fan into the room.

Quickly, my Dad yelled at my mother, “FIRE, get out of the house!” She grabbed her bible, some clothes, and her purse. My father didn’t even have time to grab clothes because the fire was spreading so fast.

The home was consumed in flames quickly. Their belongings were gone, and my mother’s hair was even singed. Nothing was left but a pile of rubble.

My parents are amazing people. Nothing about this has shaken their faith. On the contrary, the community, neighbors, and church came to their rescue almost immediately.

Within hours, they had clothes to wear and a place to stay. The Red Cross was there immediately with support and help. They were able to get their medications and their basic needs were quickly met.

I am so thankful and grateful to everyone who has and continues to support my family. And thank you to everyone who has donated to the Go-Fund-Me. Every little bit goes a long way from replacing toiletries to appliances.

Everyone, please make sure you have adequate insurance on your home and contents. Check your homeowner's insurance policy, raise your deductible if need be, and have 2022 replacement values.  If you need an honest, professional insurance guy, please contact my go-to guy, Nick Ireland at 727-212-9393 nick.nickirelandinsurance.com.

I tell you this because I feel their insurance policy isn’t going to really cover what they’ll truly need to replace a home & contents.

I’m just so grateful they made it out alive. I’ve always wanted to buy them a beautiful home.  Looks like that time has come.

My parents met 50 years ago this year, so they know how to handle the ups and downs of life. However, I want them to end their 50th with the ups of life, and I will do everything I can to help them have a happy home again.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank some of my past clients, friends & family that have given a donation to a Go Fund Me account.  If you would like to contribute $5, $10, $20, or whatever, please click on the button / link.

I pray you and your loved ones never have to deal with the situation we are going through now. You now know one of my “Why” reasons I get up every day & work so hard for my clients.  Kevin Freel, Realtor since 1985 serving Tampa Bay call 727-410-8599.
