Selling a home can be exciting, stressful, and uncertain. Here are some steps you can take to make the experience easy, profitable, and even exciting.

Step 1:

What are you trying to accomplish?

This can be a very complex question. This simple answer is always, make a profit. But selling a home is more than that. Are you relocating? Are you selling a rental property? How quickly do you need to sell? Are you getting a bigger home? Are you downsizing?

By answering some of these questions, you can identify the WHY in why are you selling. Your goals will also determine your strategy. Do you paint? Do you declutter? Do you sell to a cash buyer? Do you list a little higher than the current market? Do you go low?

Creating a Strategy

  • Finding financing for a sell & buy

  • Pricing - high, low & expected

  • When to list, how to list, and how to show

Develop A Marketing Strategy

Even in a hot real estate market you can make more money with a good marketing strategy. Simple tactics like:

  • Reaching out to perspective buyers before you list

  • Scheduling an open house for real estate agents only, and

  • Listing on a Thursday to maximize weekend showings

  • Promoting open houses in advance of listing

  • Professional photography sessions

  • Advertising on Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Zillow, Realtor.com, MLS, TikTok, and other digital outlets.
